Frequently asked questions

Each answer starts with the direct answer, then the details.

The app

What is TW Stock Lens AI?

TW Stock Lens AI is a research assistant for Taiwan-listed stocks on iPhone and iPad. On your phone, it gathers material announcements, monthly revenue and financial statements for your watchlist, and folds routine filings away by fixed rules so you see what is worth reading.

With your own AI key, it summarizes filings into key points, each linked to the original text. The judgment stays yours.

Does TW Stock Lens AI give investment advice?

No. TW Stock Lens AI organizes public information. QuantumElm Holdings Inc. is not a securities investment consulting enterprise, and TW Stock Lens AI gives no buy or sell suggestions, ratings, price levels or timing for any stock, and has no stock picks.

AI answers go through a wording check; if one reads like investment advice, the whole answer is hidden.

Which devices are supported?

iPhone and iPad with iOS 18 (iPadOS 18) or later. An Android version is in development and not yet available.

The Android version follows the iOS version’s features. Already done there: Pro (a one-time purchase through Google Play), export, new-filing alerts, the daily reminder and statement import. Home-screen widgets and browsing the provider’s full model list are done too. iCloud sync is iOS-only. Statement import on Android does not recognize text on the phone: every page (up to the first 5) is sent as an image to the AI provider you chose, after asking for your consent.

Which languages are supported?

Traditional Chinese, English and Simplified Chinese. The interface and AI summaries use your language; original filings always stay in Chinese and are labeled “Original”.

Data

How delayed are filings and prices?

Filings are one day delayed. They come from the end-of-day OpenAPI snapshots of the Taiwan Stock Exchange and the Taipei Exchange, which hold the previous day's announcements.

Prices are end-of-day closes. There are no real-time quotes.

Why does history start on the day I install?

The exchanges' OpenAPI provides only the latest period, and TW Stock Lens AI has no servers of its own. So monthly revenue trends and period-over-period comparisons build up on your phone day by day from install.

Will new-filing alerts arrive on time?

Not guaranteed. There is no push server; alerts rely on the system occasionally waking the app in the background, so they may be late or missed.

There is also a daily reminder that prompts you to open the app at a set time, Monday to Friday. It is scheduled on your phone; on iOS its timing is reliable, while on Android the system may shift it slightly to save battery. Data refreshes when you open the app. The app has no trading calendar, so the reminder also appears on market holidays that fall Monday to Friday.

Where does the data come from?

End-of-day public data from the Taiwan Stock Exchange and the Taipei Exchange. The app makes requests only when you open it or open a stock, and caches and throttles them on your phone to avoid burdening the sources: end-of-day data is published once a day, and the app generally does not ask for the same data again before the next update (as a safety net in case its timing is off, it checks again after at most 6 hours). If you turn on new-filing alerts, the system also wakes the app in the background from time to time to check the two filing endpoints (Listed and OTC), at most once every 6 hours and without re-downloading data that has not changed.

AI and costs

Do I need an AI key?

No. Today, Watchlist, Theses, Scorecard and the structured filing reader all work without a key.

AI summaries need one, and so does Pro statement import unless you are on an iPhone running iOS 26 or later with Apple Intelligence (on Android, statement import is always read by the AI provider you chose, so it always needs one).

Who pays for the AI?

You do. TW Stock Lens AI uses your own key (BYOK), so costs are billed to your account with the AI provider. We don’t handle the payment and add no markup.

The app shows how many tokens each request used. Models in the built-in list that have a listed price get a cost estimate; models whose price is uncertain (for example, Gemini’s default model) do not.

Which AI providers are supported?

Gemini, OpenAI, OpenRouter and Anthropic. Pick a model from the built-in list, look up the provider’s full list, or enter a custom model name. With OpenRouter you can sign in with your account instead of copying a key.

Is there a free AI option?

Yes. Sign in with an OpenRouter account to use free models, with no card required.

Free models vary in quality, may get figures wrong and have daily limits, and the upstream providers offering them may keep or train on what you send. On the Gemini free tier, Google uses content to improve its products. If that matters to you, use a paid model.

To use free models, your OpenRouter account must allow providers that offer free capacity (set on the OpenRouter website under Settings → Privacy); otherwise they will not work, and the app tells you how to adjust it. Switching to a free model also brings a separate explanation and a separate consent request.

Are AI summaries always correct?

No. AI can misread or miswrite figures, so every point has a source that takes you back to the paragraph it came from. The original prevails.

Monthly revenue changes come from the figures the exchange publishes, and margins are computed by the app. Neither is calculated by AI.

The app also checks the numbers in an AI answer against the original text that each point cites. A point that does not match is hidden, and the app shows how many were hidden. This cannot guarantee that every point is correct.

What is sent when I use AI?

Only what the task needs, such as the filing you are reading. It goes straight from your phone to the provider you chose, never through us.

Before the first time each kind of content goes to each provider, the app explains what will be sent and to whom, and sends only with your consent; switching to a free model brings a separate explanation and a separate consent. You can withdraw consent in Settings.

Purchases and accounts

Does it cost anything?

It is free to download. Some capacity and convenience features are part of Pro, a one-time purchase rather than a subscription; see the App Store for the price (Google Play on Android).

Paying adds capacity and convenience, such as an unlimited watchlist, statement import and widgets, never more analysis.

Do purchases carry over between iOS and Android?

No. TW Stock Lens AI has no account system: iOS purchases go through Apple and Android purchases through Google Play, and the two cannot verify each other. Pro bought on iOS does not unlock Android, and vice versa.

Do my 1.0 account and data carry over to 2.0?

No. Version 2.0 is a redesign with no account system. Your 1.0 sign-in and in-app data do not carry over; after updating, add your watchlist again.

If you bought the 1.0 lifetime plan, or still have an active 1.0 subscription, you get Pro when using the same Apple Account.

Privacy

Do you collect my data?

No. There is no account, no tracking, no third-party analytics or ad SDK, and no server of ours. Your data stays on your phone, or in your own iCloud if you turn on sync. See the privacy policy.

Where is my AI key stored?

Only in this phone's iOS keychain. It is never synced and never written to logs or export files. The Android version will use the Android Keystore.
